How can I sign up for a visit?
. You will be able to select the date and time you would like to visit and give us more information about what you would like to do while you are on campus.
How long does the campus visit take?
A typical visit consists of an information session with an admission counselor who will be able to discuss with you admission criteria, financial aid and scholarship opportunities as well as information about housing, dining services and student life; this takes approximately 30 minutes.
This will be followed by a student guided walking tour of campus, which typically takes one and one-half hours.
In addition, you may request to meet with an academic department. If we are able to confirm that appointment, you should add an additional one to two hours to your visit time.
How much of a notice do you need to schedule my campus visit?
We ask that you give us at least two weeks’ notice to arrange your visit. However, if you are just passing through Western Kentucky and would like to drop in, feel free to do so. We will NOT be able to acquire academic appointments on same day visits.
How will I know if my registration went through?
You will receive a pop-up confirmation as soon as you submit your registration; you will also receive an automated confirmation within a few minutes of your registration; sent to the email you listed on your profile.
You will also receive a reminder a couple of days before your visit, with more information and an itinerary of your visit.
Where do I go and where will I park for my visit?
You will be given detailed information about parking in the emails you will receive after your registration. This will include a link to register your vehicle before arriving on campus. Visitor parking is free.
You will park in visitor’s parking at the Curris Center (GPS address: 1375 Chestnut St, Murray, KY 42071).
Can I meet with a faculty member in my area of interest while I am there?
When you register for your visit you may indicate an interest in speaking with an academic department. Be sure to plan ahead – we need at least two weeks’ notice to request these appointments. While we will do our best to schedule these appointments, they are not guaranteed; especially if requested at the last minute.
I play a sport at my high school. Can I meet with a coach during my visit?
Unfortunately, due to NCAA guidelines; the Office of Recruitment is not able to schedule athletic appointments.
You can complete an online questionnaire in order to let the coach know of your interest. Simply and select the sport of your choice from the SPORTS link in the gold header bar and then the MORE options icon in the white header bar; click on FUTURE RACERS QUESTIONNAIRE.
What if I (or my parent) has a disability or injury which prevents us from walking campus? Can we still take the tour?
Absolutely! We ask that when scheduling your appointment, you let us know if you need special accommodations. This will allow us time to arrange for a wheel chair or a special driving tour.
